Brain-Building In The Early Years

Busy Bees Preschool Center’s mission is to provide an enriched, early education to children between the ages of 2 months and 5 years old. Research plays a large role in our planning, providing teachers with the latest information on appropriate learning experiences in the physical, social/emotional language and cognitive domains. Our staff is eager to support each child’s unique growth and development.

Our Team

Maria Paulino, A.S.

I believe we need to invest in our children who are the emerging leaders of our future. Instilling them now with the skills, confidence, and compassion can equip them to influence the world as they grow.

Experience

I started working at Busy Bees Preschool Center in July of 1998 as an Assistant Teacher and finished my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Mount Wachusett Community College the following year. I achieved DEEC Director II status in 2000. In 2004, I joined the Schott Fellowship, which researches preschoolers and the challenges their families face. It helps early childhood professionals have a better understanding of how to serve and assist the families. As a Fellow, I exercise my skills as a leader on the local level by advocating for the needs of the families and young children in our community. In 2005, I made the decision to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education at Fitchburg State College and several months later purchased the center. While continuing work on my Bachelor’s Degree, I have been transitioning the ownership aspect of the center, and at the same time, successfully achieved NAEYC accreditation for the Center through 2022.

Alexis Johnston

Assistant Teacher

I started being a babysitter and mother’s helper at eleven years of age, falling in love with the idea of caring for children. I perused jobs in related fields during summers as a high school student, and took any chance I could to babysit for friends and family, as well as getting involved on Care.com. This is proof of how eager I am to work with children! My dream is to be an elementary school teacher. I believe strongly that the success of future generations is found through education.

Oakmont Regional High School graduate and I am now enrolled as a freshman at Fitchburg State University with a declared major in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish.

Zoribett Lozada. A.S.

Lead Teacher Infant/toddler, PS/I/T MA-DEEC I/T/PS Certified

I have always wanted to work with children from a young age since I believe that children are our future. I work with young children to help them blossom and grow to their full potential. A teacher is someone who is caring, loving, patient, respectful, nurturing, understanding and most of all passionate, not only about their job, but also about caring for and educating young children. This is why I have committed myself to making sure I am providing children with a safe, warm, nurturing, positive, trusting and stimulating environment where they can continue to grow and learn at their own pace. I enjoy getting to know all the parents and creating a strong trusting relationship. I want to be the teacher that stays in a child’s mind as s/he grows and becomes his/her own person. Being remembered as a great teacher would be the greatest reward anyone could possibly give me.

Maisa Moreira, A.S.

Preschool Lead Teacher, MA-DEEC LT certified

I love working with children. One of the most amazing feelings is to help children realize what they are capable of doing. They realize that they can put on their own shoes and jackets or they can recognize their letters and names. Even when I was little I always loved “playing” teacher!

Erika Seijo, A.A.

Assistant preschool teacher

I work with young children to see how they develop from a young age. Although my goal is to teach elementary education, I am learning by working with different age groups. I want to be the kind of teacher that impacts her students in a positive way. I want my students to learn important lessons that they will need to get through their lives and become successful. My favorite part of working as a preschool teacher is the aspect of learning through play. I appreciate every achievement that my students have, no matter how big or how small. I want them to know that everything they do counts!
